Few people get along well with their boss; but that’s not to say that every boss is shitty. A shitty boss is specifically enslaved to a misperception of work and management that is unhealthy for everyone he or she surrounds. If you believe you’re at risk of becoming, or have become, a shitty boss, then this 30 day mindfulness program will help you to stop being the type of leader that people despise; so that you can start living your best life possible in the present moment. Being a shitty boss to others implies that you’re being a shitty boss to yourself; so it’s time to become aware, happy, and free.
In this program we define shitty boss as: a boss who depends on a style of leadership that treats employees like shit. This can look like: abuse, harassment, ignorance, noncompliance, discouragement, carelessness, inability to manage, unwillingness to grow employee potential, apathy, misleading, avoiding, and lying. The cover of this book has a depiction of a boss yelling at an employee, but this isn’t the only type of shitty boss behavior. As just mentioned, shittiness can be exhibited as passive aggression, such as ignoring an employee’s request for time off or simply being unable to manage a person in a spirit of honesty and respect. Shittiness comes in many forms.
However you define shitty boss, it’s important that you recognize it as an unhealthy dependency on a style of leadership that promotes adverse thought patterns, habits, and behaviors. A good way to know if you’re a shitty boss is to objectively observe the people you manage – do they appear happy, at peace, and grateful for being under your management? If not, you have the ability to change.
This program involves 30 days of mindfulness lessons and exercises to help you overcome patterns of thinking, feelings, and attachments that have kept you stuck as a shitty boss. Though these lessons and exercises can be applied to any unhealthy reliance, this program will focus specifically on being a shitty boss.
