30 Days Without Social Media

by Harper Daniels

The point of this program is to abstain from social media for 30 days, while substituting mindfulness exercises in its place. It’s advised that you post a message to your social media accounts indicating that you’re taking a 30 day break – this lets people know why you won’t be responding to messages or updating information, and it serves as a natural accountability measure for yourself.

One of the most important lessons to keep in mind is to not fight any anxious or pernicious feelings while participating in this program. Dependencies, habits, and strong patterns of thinking are empowered by a fight and struggle. Social media dependency, like most habits of an imperfect society, feed on negative thought patterns, fear, and struggle. This program will help you overcome the habit without conflict.

You’ll need about 15-30 minutes per day for the program; but feel free to spend more time if needed. The amount of time doesn’t matter, as long as you’re in an environment that allows you to concentrate without distraction.

Enjoy the program and your journey of self discovery!
